Description

Plucker : Ancient Azhdarchids like Hatzegopteryx and Quetzalcoatlus were the largest animals ever to fly, and a few species today approach those 40 foot wide giants in size. One of those species stands almost 20 feet tall and weighs nearly half a ton. However, unlike its ancestors, this pterosaur can't fly. The plucker has abandoned the skies and become grounded, living mainly by scavenging rotting corpses that litter the African plains or plucking up small animals. The wings that once stretched from their elongated finger to their ankles ave shrunk, and in the only extend to the elbow, and are only used for sexual displays, during which the giant beast arcs back on its hind legs and spreads his "wings" out. Since it no longer flies, the plucker no longer needs a light weigh head, so its head has grown and its beak has become long, thick and strong, perfect for feeding on rotting morsels of meat and bone.

Ostrax : Another species of flightless pterosaur, the ostrax is about as tall as a man and is even more radically evolved than the plucker. For one, it is a biped, and its wings are now only sued in colorful mating displays. Secondly, were as most other pterosaurs of the past and present are carnivores of some sort, eating fish, insects or carrion, the ostrax is a herbivore, snatching up leaves, grasses and fruit, along with some occasional insects. Its beak has changed from the long, thin and sharp to relatively short, blunt and rounded, almost like a hadrosaur. They can be seen wandering open plains and scrub-land in small herds, and when faced with danger, will either sprint away or fight off their attackers with powerful kicks.

These are very nice drawings- and featuring one of the coolest airborn predators (I have a soft spot for pterosaurs..) Great job!
